When it comes to the aftercare for your Donna Bella Hair Extensions, brushing your extensions is one of the most important things to do. Often, at the end of an appointment, there is so much excitement and a lot to go over; including products, how long in between appointments and how to care for them. Something as simple as how to brush your Donna Bella Hair Extensions can easily be overlooked. However, if you’re not properly brushing your hair, you can run into some complications that could be avoided by following these simple steps.

  • Step 1 – Have the proper tools (Donna Bella Hair Extension Brush and a couple of hair clips). Using the proper brush is crucial. If you use a brush that’s not good for extensions, you can end up ripping the extension out and damaging your natural hair in the process. Donna Bella’s brush has boar bristles that help distribute the oils from your scalp down to the ends of the extension hair helping to keep the extensions nourished. It also includes synthetic bristles that are longer to help reach the scalp and help get tangles out gently.
  • Step 2 – Brushing the interior of your hair. Clip up 3/4 of your hair, only leaving a small section at the bottom of your head. Start at the bottom of the hair and work your way up, making sure to gently get out all the tangles. When you reach the top, brush over the application site of the extensions. This will stop tangles from occurring at the root area.
  • Step 3 – Resection and repeat step 2. The most important part is making sure your sections are not to big so that you can make sure to detangle the root area. The whole head should take about 3 to 4 sections to complete.

When taking the time to follow these 3 simple steps, you will achieve a much more natural look to your extensions during the day, less breakage throughout your hair and its ends, and an easier removal process. Meaning less time in the chair at the salon and a happy experience with your hair extensions!
